This large free overnight rest area is located on the banks of the Ovens River. The rest area is accessed immediately after crossing the Ovens River Bridge. There is a lovely sandy bank down to the river, picnic table, toilets and plenty of places to put up your tent or set up your caravan.
There is plenty of shade on offer here from the tall trees surrounding you. There is a small number of places that big rigs can camp here. It is a good spot to have a swim or do some fishing. Here you will find toilets, picnic tables and dogs are allowed.

Once called Anzac Park, it consists of a large grove of Cottonwood trees which provide great shade. Plenty of room for big rigs provided they can negotiate the entrance. I had no trouble with a 9 metre low slung bus. Very pleasant stopover. You can fish from your rig if so inclined.
Long drop toilets are well maintained.
Light traffic so very peaceful.
Cottonwood fallout said to be hard to remove in the autumn. Blossom drift may give asthmatic some difficulty.
