Roonga Point is a free bush camping area with no facilities. The views over the Torres Strait are fantastic from your camping spot. It is accessed via 4WD only but you can tow a small offroad camper trailer with only a few soft spots to challenge you. There are plenty of campsites along the road here with the a large camping area cleared at the end of the space.
It is dog friendly and campfires are permitted in existing fire pits. There are no facilities here so please take all rubbish with you.
Please be aware that crocodiles and dingoes are frequent in the area.

We were the only ones camped overnight in one of the first sites in. Beautifully peaceful and gorgeous sunset. Beach littered with rubbish along the high tide line. Parts of road in rather rutted.
