Tyalgum Camping Ground (Showgrounds)

Show Ground - New South Wales

Favourite

Tyalgum Camping Ground is located at the Tyalgum Showground, and is managed by the local volunteer committee.  Powered and unpowered camping sites are available, with basic amenities located on-site.  The site is popular among camping and caravanner groups and is booked out during the music festival weekend.

Those visiting town can top up or refresh supplies at the Tyalgum General Store or Tyalgum Garage, located in the old Norco Butter Factory, adjacent to Norco Park. Here, visitors will also find day picnic facilities with a BBQ, picnic table, public toilets and a stunning view to Mount Warning.

Tyalgum has convenient access to Wollumbin National Park and Mebbin National Park, and very steep access (not recommended) on foot to the Border Ranges and Lamington National Parks – a hikers heaven!

This is a spacious quiet campgrounds. Friendly caretaker, great views, easy walk to town. Has a dump point, although basic.

Great place to stay, very close to river, where you can go for dip. Short walk or bike ride to town. Visit cafe, pub or general store. Just as you enter the Showgrounds entrance, stop at the big blue rig and talk to Richard, he is the caretaker, pay the fee to him and pick your site. New amenities, hot showers and clean toilets, flat sites, views to Mt Warning, fantastic scenery if you drive into Tyalgum via Zara Road, spectacular bat display at dusk. The bat colony is on the other side of the road, no smells from them and they were not a concern, everyone we bumped into either in town or at the camping site were very nice and helpful. 3-4/11/2018. We will visit again.

A great location. If you want a standard caravan park of “all the ducks in a row” vans and motor homes all lined up, then this not for you. The site is a large well maintained grassed area, being the old Showgrounds. The new amenities are brilliant and spotless. The old amenities block is also spotless. The camp kitchen is not the most modern but it has everything you need and is again spotless. Town is a short walk, 400 metres, with a general store, pub, garage and fruit shop. The views of Mt Warning are great. The colony of flying foxes across the road are not an issue for noise or smell. We were going to stay two or three nights and decided to stay for eight. So peaceful.

Great camp spot. Stop at the big blue rig at the entrance to the show grounds. Pay Richard, he is the caretaker and pick your spot. You can have a dip in the nearby river, ride your bike or stroll into town, go to the pub, the cafe or general store, very quiet after dark, had a great nights sleep, hot showers and clean toilets, will be happy to return.
