Situated right on the Murray River, Charlies Flat is an ideal spot to pitch a tent under the jarrah, blackbutt and marri trees or to find a secluded spot on the river bank to throw in a fishing line.
Charlies Flat is a day use and camping area, with secluded individual campsites along the river. The campsite is not suitable for large groups.
Swimming, canoeing and fishing can all be enjoyed at Charlies Flat. If you are just looking for a peaceful spot for a picnic, the day use area has picnic tables, barbecues, toilets and bins.
Charlies Flat is one of a number of small campgrounds situated along the Murray River within Lane Poole Reserve. Campsites at Charlies Flat must be booked online before you arrive. There are 16 campsites which are ideal for families; the site is not intended for group usage. Four sites have provision for small caravans or camper trailers.
Larger vehicles will need to find a site at either Nanga Mill or Baden Powell. The campground has barbecue pits, picnic tables, toilets and rubbish bins.
