An historic timber slab hut that was occupied until the 1980s. Today it provides shelter and very basic facilities for bushwalkers and visitors. Camping on the grounds of the hut is also permitted.
Nunnock Swamp walking trail is nearby and there are opportunities for bird-watching and seeing wildflowers. It's an important site for early European cultural heritage.
Getting there: From the north, turn off the Snowy Mountains Highway onto Packers Swamp Road. Follow this road south and turn left onto Cattleman's Link Trail. Follow this track through past the Nunnock camping ground until you reach a fork in the road. At the fork take the track to the left which leads directly to the hut. From the south, turn left onto New Line Road and follow this through to Packers Swamp Road. Turn right and head north until you reach Cattleman's Link Trail. Follow for 4km to the hut.
Facilities: wood barbecues, non-flush toilets
Water supply: Tank water is provided but is not suitable for drinking
