The McClures call Kallara Station “the accessible outback” as it is central to the historic River Ports of Bourke and Wilcannia and the outback mining towns of Cobar and White Cliffs. Kallara Station Stay is 15 minutes drive from Tilpa which has an all weather sealed airstrip with lights for late landings or early morning departures (courtesy vehicle by arrangement).
Relax at Kallara Station at the luxurious Coolabah Lodge with a range of riverside units. Treat yourself, your family and friends with all the modern facilities, including ensuites and reverse cycle airconditioning. You can also enjoy fully hosted dinners by prior arrangement. Or choose Kallara’s Fisherman’s Lodge accommodation with its shared facilities – ideal for large groups. Both of these excellent facilities are fully self-contained.
Kallara Station offers camping areas with access to power for caravans and campers. For more solitude, there are designated campsites along the river.
Enjoy the grassed entertainment area with BBQs set amongst the Coolabah Trees overlooking the Darling River. The remains of a steam engine boiler makes a magic outdoor fireplace which invites those old fashioned campfire yarns.
Relax and enjoy the beautiful days and nights that this very special region of the outback has to offer. Spacious grounds provide plenty of room for the kids with an in-ground pool and grassed tennis court available.
