Cassilis War Memorial Park

Private Campground - New South Wales

Closed indefinitely due to COVID19. 29.9.2021 LS

This low cost campground is large, open and grassy.  There is some shade on offer here.  There are powered and unpowered sites.  A new toilet and shower block has been installed recently.  Payment of fees is made at the bowling club which offers hot meals on Friday nights.

This is a great find at only $12 pn. Clean and new unisex toilet and shower block. Friendly people at club. Meals only on weekends. We will stay again. Great spot to leave the van and explore the area.

Fees now $15 for a powered site. Cook on Friday and Saturday nights, other nights meals may be available as cook leaves stock in the freezer. Facilities are basic but water is always hot.

Very friendly people at the Bowling Club, however Park amenities were not in the best state. I don’t require much, but a good sweep out & clean up was required. I felt sad for the little town of Cassilis as a lot could be done to keep this town going.

Very quiet and relaxing spot, clean showers and toilets, pizza night Friday night. Pay camp fees at the club very popular.

A great spot at a very reasonable price. Good amenities and the Club opens at 4.30pm each day $5 a schooner. There is so much of our early history in this area dating from the 1830’s. There are heritage listed buildings throughout the township as well as heritage listed Shearing Shed across the road built from Ironbark with no nails at all, it is still like the day it was built. A good spot to visit The Drip and Hands on Rock which are icons of the area.

This is a great little camp spot off the highway. There are good facilities toilets showers etc and the bowls club serve meal and operate a bar on a part time basis. There are some powered sites on a first in first served basis and $10 a night is considered good value. The village near by has a hotel and store. Definitely a place we will put on our favourite list.

This is a lovely place to stop, but sadly when we arrived there was no sign anywhere to say it was Closed. Eventually a man arrived to tell us the community have shut the place down while Covid is around.

A great place to stay. Great amenities, bowls club nearby who serve meals. Very friendly locals run park.
