A well set out area with hard and grassy stands but is limited in the numbers it can accommodate. Kandanga nearly died with the failed Traveston Dam project and is rebuilding itself please support the town as much as possible the locals are friendly.
All you could wish for in a free camp, including circular seating round a fire pit for happy hour. Clean toilets and BBQ across the road. Donation box at camp site. Short walk to shops and take the stairway across the train line to the very friendly Country Club.
This an excellent stop over with Bowling Club , Coffee Shop and amenities.
My favourite Rv camp near Brisbane - special parking bays, awesome toilets, good play area, hot showers and swim for a few dollars at the pool across the road, safe fireplace and wood, great takeaway shop, hotel and butcher, short walk to the Mary River, meals on weekends at the bowls club, short walk to the old train station and weir, plenty of shade trees if you need that, lots of green grass, rose apple bushes - yummy when in season.
Dump point nearby in Imbil - please leave your donation. Best of the best near Brisbane.
and .....there is a great little bowling club near the rest area that hosts CMCA chapters.
We loved our few days at Kandanga. Our initial plan was to stay for one night and then continue north but after an enjoyable meal at the bowling club and an insight into the local area we decided to stay longer. A visit to the tourist information let us know that we could stay for 96 hours, not the advertised 72 so we settled in doing some enjoyable walks, having a relaxing afternoon at the local hotel finished off with a delicious meal at very reasonable prices. We wouldn’t hesitate to patronise Kandanga as the locals are doing their best to attract the grey nomad dollars.
Just spent a few lovely days at Kandanga RV Park, QLD. We love this place because the locals are friendly, the ammenities and the local pool are just across the road, and the place is always clean and well kept.
There is a washing machine and a library at the local Information Centre, which backs onto the park, where you can buy a bag of books for $2.00, and donate any that you’re finished with.
Pick up a local information pack, and fill in the feed back form on the RV Park.
They have a 72hr limit, and payment is via a donation box.
Quite spacious nice area in centre of village. Good hot food at shop. Toilets, BBQ, swimming pool across road. 72 hr limit.
Great little spot. Swimming pool across the road and if you want $3.00 for a shower at the pool. Toilets also across the road and are very clean. The area is very clean and a gentleman even came around selling freshly laid eggs. I planned on staying one night and stayed two.
