Tooraweenah Caravan Park

Caravan Park - New South Wales

Favourite

Tooraweenah Caravan Park is a small, friendly park at the Southern Gateway to the Warrumbungle National Park, on the Tourist Drive, just off the Newell Highway between Gilgandra and Coonabarabran.  We have 2 en suite cabins, 2 basic cabins, 17 powered sites and 5 unpowered sites, a guest laundry that houses a fridge and a microwave for guests to use.  There are free gas barbeques around the site and an outside sink with hot and cold running water to make washing up easy.

We are very pet friendly with an off leash dog area and have a pet friendly cabin for those owners who like to have their furry friends inside with them.  We also have 3 day pens where we look after guest's dogs for a minimal fee giving the owners the opportunity to walk in the National Park knowing their pets are being cared for.  If hiking isn't on the agenda then we'll look after our four legged guests whilst our two legged guests go shopping, or even take a trip to Dubbo Zoo.

If you fancy a game of golf Tooraweenah boasts a 9 hole course.  Left your clubs at home?  No worries, we have a set you can borrow!  There are also tennis courts within walking distance of the park.  For a refreshing way to end a hot summers day we have a swimming pool to help build a thirst for your sundowner.

The town has everything you need for a comfortable stay, a pub for great meals, a rural store/post office for newspapers ,stamps and more and a general store/service station.  Please see under the Tooraweenah page for more info on these services.  For the younger members of the family there is the Lions Park with a great assortment of energy burners for those that want to play.

We also offer a 'fly in, fly out' service so guests with light aircraft can visit and stay in the area.  Fly to Tooraweenah, land and park your plane, we'll collect you from the airstrip and drive you to the village where you can relax whilst sharing a relaxing drink, chat to the locals and other visitors, spend the night in one of our cabins, experience the wonderful ambiance that is Tooraweenah and, when you're ready, we'll return you to your plane.

We stayed for just one night on 3rd August '17 and this would have to rate as the most friendliest caravan park in which we have ever stayed. Warm scones (with home made jam and cream) on arrival was just the beginning. A happy hour around a blazing fire with all the nomads and gypsies joining in, was a wonderful time. Geoff and Sarah are the most gracious of hosts and nothing was too much trouble - they have worked to develop a park with a lovely feel and also work hard at promoting the local attractions. They deserve our support by staying here more often - we'll be back and for a much longer stay, next time.

Can only add to previous reviews that it is a great place to stay. Clean, welcoming and peaceful. If future journeys take us anywhere near it we look forward to staying there again.

Really hospitable site. Ideal location close to the Warrumbungle National Park. Very much enjoyed the happy hour gatherings and many then took advantage of the meals at the local pub. Will be making another visit without hesitation.

We stayed here for 2 nights (13 & 14 April 2016) and Geoff and Sarah welcomed us with scones, jam and cream...delicious. Happy hour was excellent with Geoff and Sarah introducing all the campers. Loved listening to Geoff talking about the history of the town. Had a meal at the Pub that was excellent. When we left here it was a little sad as we were leaving friends.

If traveling on the Newell Highway between Coonabarabran and Gilgandra and want to miss the normal traffic noise then drop into a very nice small caravan park just 3 Klm off the highway to Tooraweenah Caravan Park. On arrival you are welcomed by Scott and Janelle with a lovely plate of jam and cream scones. Its pet friendly as well. By Christmas time a Dump point should be installed. Small camp kitchen and laundry. Vegetable and herb garden for you to use. Very friendly hosts.

A great park deserves 6 stars for all the extra special touches. Scott & Janelle are the best hosts with scones jam & cream on arrival, nibbles at happy hour, even shower bath mats to dry the feet.
