**Please note: the GPS location is of the 4WD El Questro Home Valley Station - camping area & general store**

Over 1 million acres in size, El Questro is located in Western Australia’s untamed Kimberley region and extends for approximately 80 kilometres into its heart, most of which has never been explored. It is one of Australia’s last true frontiers.

Whilst holidaying at El Questro, you will enjoy activities including barramundi fishing, horse trekking, or exploring remote areas by helicopter that only a select few have ever seen. A day spent with a local Ranger will introduce you to a huge variety of animals and birds – you may even spot a saltwater crocodile!

Our dining options cover everything from gourmet cuisine under a starry sky at El Questro Homestead to the best of Australian beef and our famous Barramundi served at The Steakhouse restaurant, all complimented by finest West Australian wines. The food at El Questro is as spectacular as the scenery!

El Questro Wilderness Park offers four types of accommodation, each different in style and catering to a range of budgets: exclusive and five-star luxury at the Homestead, Tented Cabins nestled into the natural bushland at Emma Gorge Resort at El Questro, air-conditioned Bungalows at the El Questro Station and Riverside Camping.

Experience an authentic outback adventure while camping in the heart of the El Questro Wilderness Park. There are three distinctly different ways to enjoy your El Questro camping experience: camping, private riverside camping and staying in a Station tent. Our camp sites are within close proximity to El Questro activities, giving you prime access to the area’s largely unexplored wilderness.

Riverside Camping

Black Cockatoo General Campground
The Black Cockatoo general camping ground is central to all facilities including guest showers, bathrooms and laundry. This camping ground is located at The Station, about 30 minutes drive from Emma Gorge, where you will also find the General Store, Steakhouse Restaurant and Swinging Arm Bar where you can meet and mix with other outback adventurers travelling through Australia's North West.

Powered Camp Sites
We 20 powered camp sites at The Station.  There is a surcharge of $20 per site per night, in addition to our normal camping rates.   Please contact us to book your powered camp site in advance.  Other camp sites at The Station are unpowered, but generators may be used at designated times of the day.

Private Riverside Camping

Secluded from other campers, there are just 25 Private Riverside sites, named after their inhabitants, such as "Willy Wagtail", "Bustard" or "Sea Eagle". These private camping sites are situated further along the Pentecost River, yet close to the heart of the property. They are approximately a 10 minute drive from The Station's central facilities, which are available for use by all campers.

Station Tents
Camping at El Questro just got a lot more convenient. If you want to experience camping as part of your Kimberley adventure but you do not have your own tent and equipment, or, after hours on the road the last thing you want to do is put up a tent - then we have the perfect solution for you.

We maintain a small amount of powered tents permanently set up in the Black Cockatoo campground where you can enjoy the comforts of a freshly made bed (off the ground!), bedside lamps, a fan, an outdoor dining set and daily housekeeping service. With a parking bay beside you, amenities close at hand and all the facilities of the Station Township to enjoy, who said camping has to be about roughing it.  Tents sleep up to 2 persons in twin bedding.

The Station Store and Reception is open from 7.00am till 5.00pm every day for all your basic needs, comforts and tour bookings. The store also becomes the Swinging Arm Bar & Grill in the evenings and is open till late most nights.

Overlooking the Pentecost River is the Steakhouse Restaurant. The restaurant is open every day (Except Saturday when there is a gourmet BBQ at the Swinging Arm Bar) for breakfast, lunch & dinner

The amenities block is located just behind the Station Store with blocks and ensuite style shower and toilet facilities.

The Guest laundry is located adjacent to the Amenities Block and has coin-operated washing machines, dryers and clothes lines.

There is a naturally formed water hole in front of the Steakhouse Restaurant and another in Black Cockatoo Campground. Please note both are safe for swimming but are unsupervised.

Wifi is available, with strongest coverage provided at the Station Store. Wifi access can be purchased form the Station Store for a fee. There is no mobile coverage at the property but there are several public phones. Telstra phone cards can be purchased form the Station Store.

There is free live entertainment every Saturday night and from May till September 3-5 nights a week.

Diesel & Unleaded Fuel available as are tyre & minor mechanical repairs.

EFTPOS & ATM facilities available.

Very expensive compared to 3 years ago. A permit for each person is 12.00 day visit or 22.00 7 days this permit covers Emma gorge also. Site costs 22.00 per person power is an additional 22.00. The wilderness around is wonderful the gorge cruise is good. The lookout is highly recommended. Zebe hot springs are excellent but now very crowded best to be there early the springs open from 7:00 to 13:00
