Axel Stenross Boat Ramp - SA RVFT

Private Campground - South Australia

This council camping area is permitted by council for self contained vehicles only and a maximum of 3 night stay.  Payment for the permit can be made at the Port Lincoln Visitor Centre and Axel Stenross Maritime Museum.  Only park in the designated area in the upper car park area.

Nice outlook over the busy boat ramp. All official sites are heavily sloping (around 20 degrees) making it virtually impossible to level. B double trucks roaring by metres from your ears also not ideal. Most campers are forced to break the rules and infringe on the boat launching parking. It is so sad that so little thought was given to the needs of campers in both of Port Lincolns freedom camps. It appears that the camps were either planned by the local caravan park owner or a totally disinterested public servant. The town itself is very RV friendly just such a shame about their camping options.

All sites are on a slope. Clean toilets to be found up behind the museum. Lovely views of the bay.
