Barcaldine Rest Area, toilets, (24hr). Area with trees behind is now fenced off but overnight parking still allowed in front rest area.
Large free overnight gravel rest area with shaded picnic tables, BBQ, toilets. Some shade is on offer here. It set just off the highway.

This Rest Area is on the southern side of Barky and has a bitumen drive though, toilets, and shelter. The camping area behind the Rest Area can accommodate quite a few rigs but tends to be dusty due to constant use. Would not recommend when wet.

It's just where it is shown on the app north of the road. Going out of town heading east it will be on your left just after the road crosses the railway. Lots and lots of space around the back might be a problem in heavy rain.

Stayed here overnight. Plenty of room for all size vehicles. We were able to get a spot well away from the road so no noise at night. Small camp fires all around. Bit dusty but not too bad. Ground is firm at this time of year. Plenty of small trees but limited shade.
