Murray Bridge Showgrounds - SA RVFT

Show Ground - South Australia

The Murray Bridge Showground & oval is a major sporting and events destination on the east side of town.

The showground is a regular meeting place for many local sporting teams and preferred location for many large, annual & one off, events. Council maintains this facility for the benefit of the local community and the many visitors to the region.

This is a highly accessible multi-purpose community facility for an assortment of sporting, agricultural and horticultural, social and community clubs, sporting functions and community events. It is home to the annual Murray Bridge Agricultural & Horticultural Show.

Features of the showground include two basketball stadiums, canteens, clubrooms, tickets offices, mothers room and public toilets. The showground also includes 3 pavilions, stockyards and variety of sheds for poultry, shearing, storage and other purposes. Power is also available at this site.

They offer powered and unpowered site for self contained vehicles only.  Maximum stay is 7 days.

Nice area with power but no water. Toilets and showers locked with no access.

Place was noisy up until 10.30 pm due to the nearby speedway, so be it. Amenities bins, power, water. Very dry and dusty due to drought. Lots of room. Suite any size RV.

This is still a popular camping area, some power back available and caretaker visits each night. Quiet during the night and lots of vehicles here. A pity some campers still don't understand contain grey water, this means not emptying tote under trees.

Power is no longer available and a change in caretaker who collects money. Plenty of space if everyone parks appropriately. Need to be fully self contained, dump point other side of the bridge. Great place for a stay.

Weird set up with no toilets and why you can't put grey water on trees in dryest state is beyond me.

As per other comments I would rather pay more and have access to toilets but it is what it is and well worth the $5 being so close to town.

Available toilets would make this a much more desirable destination even for self contained vehicles. It seems unusual that a show ground cannot make them accessible. Disappointing especially in an RVFT....

We stayed here before and after the Murray Bridge rally and it is an excellent site with room for many rigs both powered and unpowered sites. Part of the grounds are not too level but you will find many sites that are. Good facilities and good water to refill tanks. Price is right and not that far from the main shopping centre across the bridge.

We stopped over here just to rest for morning tea, about 6 other vehicles enjoying a stay. Have previously stayed here and recommend it. A slight slope to some sites. Must be fully self contained. Dump point located in town.

Nice quiet spot - I chose unpowered which was only $5. Some sites can be on a bit of a slope but these are mainly the powered sites but most seemed to be OK with chocks. Water also available but no amenities. Caretaker collects fee in the evening.
