Tunnel Bend Reserve

Free Camping - Victoria

This old gold mining area on the Howqua River is set in a beautiful, secluded valley, once busy with gold miners but now popular for picnics, horse riding, bushwalking and four-wheel driving.

Camping along the Howqua River is one of the best ways to enjoy this historic area and offers a great base for bushwalking, fishing and other activities. Please remember to bring your own firewood to this popular camping area.

This free camping area is suitable for small groups or camps up to approx 20 sites. It is fairly level and is grassy. You are surrounded by tall trees so shade is plentiful here.
Stayed here for 2 days plenty of room ,good new toilets no water though. Right on the river a very quiet spot not much traffic on the road. Watch the turn in it is narrow with a drop of so swing wide.
