This is a scenic free camp area located on the banks of the river. Check out the Brolgas and look for opals in and around Quilpie.
There are no facilities here however there is no maximum time limit here. Enjoy the serenity.

Don't even think about it when there has been or will be rain. I very nearly got bogged in a 4wd rig just pulling off on the side of the road to have a look. RACQ has good business pulling people out. Stay on the bitumen unless well dried out. Otherwise, Quilpie is a lovely place to visit and stay.

Large area and reasonably flat. Very overgrown at the moment and pickles everywhere. River still very low. Locals ride their trail bikes on a weekend.
