Toomulla Park - QLD RVFT

Free Camping - Queensland

This free camping area is located at the south end of Toomulla Beach.  It is accessed via Herald Street.  It is grassy and offers plenty of shade.  There is a maximum of 48 hours stay allowed.  It is located on the foreshore of the beach and is popular for fishing.  It has flushing toilets, BBQ's and picnic tables.  Dogs are allowed on a leash.  A playground is here as well.

This is a nice spot with lawned area, BBQ and tables with plenty of shade, walking paths down through the dunes near the creek / river. Sign posted where not to camp. Try to stay at area away from the creek as the midgees are bad. There's a boat ramp. Water tap and bins and toilets. Not good phone reception, only one bar. Internet OK. Policed at least twice a week by a very nice Council Ranger. 48 hr camping Strict. There is a day spot at the northern end of the town where you can get down to the beach parking very limited though. No shops that we could find in the area, closest is Rollingstone.

You need to get in early. It's a great shame that campers don't consider others before / when setting up - how will they / you get out. Locals suggested to BOIL the water at the only one tap & hand basin for drinking. ??

A nice camp we stopped for lunch here plenty of shade just a little bit dry at the moment there was no grass but would be a nice spot for an overnight camp

You need to book a permit with Townsville council - just go online and do it - it’s a 48 hour spot

Toilets are clean. Potable water available. Full by lunchtime, very popular spot. No dump point.

Just an awesome little spot - no noise except birds and much better than Bluewater Creek
