This free camping area is located on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River.  It is a large open area with plenty of trees for shade on the riverbank.  You will need to be self sufficient here as there are no facilities.  To access this area,

Well, this was not what was expected. GPS is correct to the highway entrance, with new signage by NP, but not a reserve for motorhomes or big rigs. 4WD off road camping style only. Road takes 2 km to reach river frontage which is nice but would be interesting in wet weather. No rubbish bins and phone reception patchy. We had lunch and retraced our steps.
