Moonstone Camping Area - Blackbraes National Park

The camping areas are open during the dry season—usually from March to November. They may be closed at other times depending on weather conditions. See park alerts for up-to-date information. There are no facilities so visitors must be self-sufficient. Camping permits are required and fees apply.

Camping area features: a camp near Moonstone Hill with minimal shade.

Location: east of the Kennedy Developmental Road, 5km from the northern park entrance and 6km from the southern park entrance.

Access: four-wheel-drive vehicles and camper trailers are recommended, but the camping area is accessible to conventional vehicles with caution.

Number of sites: open area without separately defined sites.

Camp sites are suitable for: tent camping beside your car, camper trailers and large groups.

Camp site surface: dirt/mowed grass.

Facilities: none.

Open fires: camp fires are permitted in the fire rings provided. Firewood is not to be collected from the national park.

Generators: not permitted.

Essentials to bring: drinking water, rubbish bags, fuel or gas stove, trowel or shovel and suitable clothing for cold nights.
