Yackamoorundie Park

Private Campground - South Australia

The best-use of many tourist sites in the town is the Yackamoorundie Park, on the banks of the Broughton, designed and developed by the Yacka Progress Group in the 1980s.

The park provides a welcoming and much-appreciated environment for passers-by, picnickers and campers.

It has free electric barbecue facilities, woodfire barbecue facilities (not available for use in fire danger season), playground equipment, clean toilets and — Yacka’s newest attraction — five mosaic picnic tables designed and made by local residents as a community arts project.  Four powered caravan sites are also available for a cost of $10.00 each,  GST inclusive.

This is a pretty little park on the edge of a small town. It is primarily a picnic ground but has several powered sites with a small shower toilet block (good hot water) and free BBQ. We had the place to ourselves and filled in some time by doing a short historical walk of the town. The site cost $15 which seemed reasonable. The mosquitos were quite active in late September but we coped.

Quiet peaceful well maintained area which was green & mowed when I visited & great for kids & dogs. Sites spacious & level. Whilst I did not stay overnight as I chanced upon it by accident I vowed to return for a few days time out at some stage & rated it highly for its peaceful location.

Very nice spot, although very dry and dusty at the moment. We have been here for 3 days, would certainly stay again if passing this way.

Yacka is an small community caravan park . Fees are $15 per night including 4 powered sites, showers and, water, Plenty of room for self-contained RVs but all at the flat tare of $15.
