Located only 40 km from Hobart, Bruny Island is one of Tasmania’s most popular islands. The game reserve camp ground and day use area is only 20 metres from the beautiful Neck Beach. The campground is flat and has many accessible sites, as well as accessible toilets. There are also sheltered and unsheltered picnic tables adjacent to the carpark.

The Neck is an important habitat for Bruny’s native wildlife, and here you’ll find the Neck Game Reserve. Boardwalks and viewing platforms enable you to observe short-tailed shearwaters and little penguins (also known as fairy penguins). You can see these remarkable birds returning to their burrows in the sand dunes at dusk—little penguins making their way up the beach in tight groups and the shearwaters gliding in from the sea. The Reserve has an interpretation board and during peak viewing times there is a Parks and Wildlife interpretation guide present at dusk. The best viewing period is during the warmer months—September to February.

Great spot to get out of the wind. Some gravel added in the camp on the road way recently. Walk in first as there is some low branches.

This is a peaceful little spot off the main Neck road. Very cheap, run by Parks. Simple facilities, grassy sites, under shady trees, sheltered from the westerlies. Short walk to the Neck beach, which is a great place to unwind.

Great campground to base yourself when on Bruny Island. Arrive early to grab a spot. Two clean drop toilets, water to boil, firepits, shady sites. Self registration which Rangers check.

This is a nice site amongst trees and is pretty popular. Some of the sand is pretty soft and you have to be careful where you park. Lots of walks available from this site.

This is a peaceful site with the sound of the ocean in the background. Self registration $5.00 per person per night, drop toilets and bore water, boil to drink.
