Wallam Creek in Bollon, Queensland, provides a relaxing camping ground in a bushland setting, 624 kilometres south-west of Brisbane. The township of Bollon can be reached via a 1.2 kilometre creekside walking track from the campsite. Bollon is a quaint country town with a cafe, pub, basic groceries and service station.

Wallam Creek Rest Area allows parking for up to 72 hours at no charge; however, a donation for your stay is welcomed. There are bins and toilets on-site, and pets on a lead are welcome. Hot showers are located only a short walk away. 

The Red River Gums on the banks of the creek are home to a large population of koalas, and over 110 species of birds have been recorded in the area. The nearby Thrushton National Park has a diverse range of plants and animals, and a spectacular display of wildflowers in the Spring. Bush walking tracks are unmarked, so be sure to bring a compass. There are also several great fishing spots in the area.

What a stunning place. Not enough stars to rate it. Called in for a cuppa and bite of lunch and was sorry to leave after three days. Great town with the pub serving good priced meals and wonderful cold beer. PLEASE remember to visit the donation box near the cemetery gate and donate to help the locals maintain this free camp for all of us. Thank You Bollon.

Nice spot on the river, hot showers and toilets available. Donation box is placed at the end of the camping near the cemetery, rather than at the entrance, which seems a little bizarre, as we are sure a lot of campers would not even know it was there. The town is lovely, although it looks to be struggling judging by the number of closed and for sale shops. Needs support from travellers.

This is a wonderful town project and judging by the amenities and the cleanliness the town have a great deal of pride in it. The creek is great for kayaking and the walk into town on the concrete pathway is lovely. Pub meals are great and the birdlife is abundant. A great stop for s few days to support the locals with a donation.

Wow what a gem for a free camp. Right on the edge of the creek, showers and toilets, an absolute bonus for those not self contained. Short walk to the pub. Do not pass by this place without staying and be honest and donate to the box. Top spot.

Really loved this spot by Wallam Creek. Plenty of room for all size rigs. Free showers, toilets and dump point. Great pathway to showers and town. I'd definitely stay again. Donation at toilets near the cemetery.
