We went for an overnight and stayed for a week. The weir is great for fishing and boating. It doesnt seem to be huge, maybe 200m across and curves around the bend 400m away. Dont know how long. There are hot showers (have to get there early) and rubbish bins. There is fire wood in the bush opposite the camp. There are trees in the old part of the camp hence shade. There are 2 other areas more open with limited trees. You could probably get around 60 or more vans in if correctly oriented. There are walks along the river and people ar friendly. There is plenty of water. It is clear bore water labelled not for drinking but its good for clothes washing etc. take care on the road in its tarred but narrow in places and has some depressions & bumps. Our camp neighbour lost their van ( came off the ball) 5km from the camp when they bounced on a road depression.

Dispite the dry conditions and a bit of dust we had a great week. Bindies are all but gone after spraying and burning. Please leave donation.

This rest area is good we enjoyed a few relaxing days there. There are lots of trees if you want shade & open areas if you want the sun for your solar panels. I agree with previous review make sure you've brought your supplies before driving out to the weir. There are hot showers but no drinking water & no dump point since 2014. There's one back at Blackwater Showground.

This is a great spot outside of Blackwater for a quiet getaway. Nice area with lots of bird life. Bit far out of town if you run out of supplies just be prepared before you head there.

We had our second visit to this camp site in July 2016 and packed with about 40 rigs but still room for more. A very pleasant site for an overnight or longer. We had about 20 peacocks come out of the bush and graze among the rigs. You can stay for 7 days for free but a donation is appreciated.
