This free overnight rest area is large and is set just off the highway. It is sealed and has a row of trees between you and the highway that act somewhat as a noise barrier. It has plenty of trees surrounding it to provide shade. The only facility here is a covered picnic table.
Good overnight stop. Only 2 other RVs there.
Road noise, but reduced by trees and the site being down off the highway.
Some trucks stopped, with quite some noise.
Possible to drive into the scrub for a better night's sleep.
Excellent place to stay on the trudge south. The night we stopped, we were the only RV present. A few trucks pulled in, but the site is big enough for all. Good TV reception. Very little highway noise. Slim Dusty's 'Something in the Pilliga" did not appear.
Good rest area for south bound travellers. Surprisingly we were the only users this night. No facilities, but the driveway is sealed. You are able to drive a little into the bush on a sandy road.
Very little phone reception. A few tracks leading back into the bush so you can get away from the highway. Enough shade for a nap on a hot afternoon.
Not a bad spot to stay the night, there is a little bit of road noise, but if you are tired, this is the best rest area on this stretch of road. To date we have not encountered the "Plliga Princess".
