Turn off the highway at GPS -23.5698, 134.3845 and follow the unsealed road for 9kms, the last 5kms are on a gravel road, until you reach the campground.
Trephina Gorge, in the East MacDonnell Ranges, is noted for its sheer quartzite cliffs and River Red Gum lined watercourses.
Two gorges dissect the range: Trephina, with its wide views and sandy creekbed, and John Hayes Rock Hole with steep, narrow rock walls.
The camping grounds have pit toilets, picnic tables, drinking water, communal firepits and gas BBQ's. Generators and dogs are not permitted here.
