HemaX Planner - Willow Park Rest Area at Rosedale

This very large free 48 hours rest area is located on the banks of the La Trobe River. You can hear a bit of noise from the adjacent freeway but it's not too bad. You can park anywhere here and all sites are grassy. You can choose from shady or full-sun areas. It has a circular layout which houses a couple of covered shelters with picnic tables. It is strictly for self contained mothorhomes only.

There is also metal steps to give you access into the swimming hole here. Make sure you take insect repellent as you will encounter a large number of mosquitoes in the Summertime.

Keep an eye out on the weather in heavy rain, as it can flood here.

Here you will find toilets, picnic tables, BBQ's and pets are allowed.

This is a great spot to stop next to a river. It is a pleasant six minute walk into town with several bakeries and other shops. There is some traffic noise, but bearable. Spotless toilets and mains water although it does taste funny.

The site is undergoing work at the moment - it was fine previously. So now it is a dust bowl around the entrance. Last night, two dozen motorhomes, caravans, tents and cars were there. The toilet is just one portaloo. Phone and TV reception fine. Walk to town is about a km. Rosedale is a good little town with most facilities. Hope the work is worth it all in the end as it seems pointless to one who has used the site before.

This is a great clean place. Plenty of room for parking with a bitumen road in . They have done a great job

Good place for a day or overnight stop. Wide Grassy areas for an overnight stop. A little noise from the nearby highway. A footbridge leads to a good easy walk to town. The toilets are portable units and need maintenance. The water tap has no handle.

The traffic noise is the main negative here, but overall, this is a good overnighter, plenty of space, new.y built drop toilets, picnic tables and only a few minutes walk into the shopping area of Rosedale.

Donation campsite run by the local chamber of commerce. Free showers at the neighborhood house at the library. Also free tea & coffee and a chat with the volunteers.

We have stayed at this site twice in recent months as it is the perfect stopover when travelling to Melbourne. The park itself is clean an tidy. There is some road noise from the nearby highway but it’s not uncomfortable. The 1.2km walk into Rosedale is pleasant and we like to patronise the local shops.
