Turon Gates is an authentic bush hideaway, tranquil and unspoilt only 2.5 hours from Sydney. It is located in the Blue Mountains on the way to Mudgee. With 7 well-built rustic log cabins situated along 15km of crystal clear trout stream and 6 cottages with sensational mountain views, Turon Gates has long been an all-year-round favourite holiday destination for many Australian couples and families.

Particularly our cabin accommodation is an idyllic escape in the Australian bush.  Whether you choose riverside or mountain, each cottage offers a large open plan lounge/dining area with a cosy fireplace and private barbecue area - just sit under the open sky and enjoy!

Each cabin sleeps up to 8 and has its own name and delightful individual character. Family groups are always welcome.

Enjoy waking up to the sounds of the bush, the chatter of the birds and the animals that come to the river for a drink. Turon Gates is abound with wildlife, kangaroos, wombats, platypus, echidnas, possums, bush lizards are all part of the Turon experience!

There is solar lighting and in winter – under floor heating – everything to make your visit as special and comfortable as possible.

CAMPING:

BOOKINGS are not taken at Turon, we have over a kilometre of great camping along the river and we know guests prefer to pick their own 'spot' over an allocated one.

ON ARRIVAL. Before setting up your camp please call into the Managers house and leave your rego number and payment, you do need a current car window sticker.

PICK YOUR FAVORITE camp site anywhere from the Managers house to the back gate. There are 2 separate fields.

OUR ROAD is a two-wheel drive road, graded regularly, just remember it is a bush road and care should be taken. If you do have a campervan or caravan we recommend you do have a 4 wheel drive vehicle for control, our camping ground is down in a valley and there is a descent to it.

HOT WATER showers and toilets are available

CAMP FIRES are allowed unless there is a fireban in place. There are rock formations around the camping area, just bring a grill plate preferably on legs.

FIREWOOD is in plentiful supply – on your way into Turon there are many fallen trees and branches, please just help yourself to anything on the ground, however if you are arriving late it might be a good idea to buy some firewood on your way or bring some with you so you have a ready campfire on arrival.

DRINKING WATER is always available at Turon – our water is mountain water, fresh and plentiful.

ICE AND FOOD SUPPLIES can be bought at Capertee, just before the Turon Gates Road turnoff.

HORSERIDING and canoeing are advised to be booked ahead, please phone 02 9969 3818.

YOUR PET IS WELCOME  Please bring bedding and feeding bowls - pets are welcome to stay with you, many of our cottages have large covered balconies with gates, do look after droppings and please no pets up on the beds or chairs.

GETTING HERE:  Turon Gates is about a 2.5-3 hour drive from the Sydney CBD. Take the M4 Freeway (through Penrith and Katoomba) or M2/M7 Motorway (exit Richmond Road and turn right) to Lithgow. Drive through/past Lithgow and follow the signs to Mudgee (Castlereagh Highway) until you come to a small village called Capertee (approximately 25 mins from Lithgow). Continue through Capertee for about 1.5 kms and you will see a sign for Turon Gates on the left.
