This free campground is large and is located on the banks of the Murray River. It is a great place for swimming, fishing, kayaking or just plain relaxing.
There are approx 40 campsites here surrounded by tall trees so plenty of shade is on offer here. There is also open areas as well.
There is a small beach area that you can launch your kayaks off or just sit and relax.
Facilities here include drop toilets and wooden picnic tables and dogs are permitted. Campfires are permitted here also.
Access to this campsite should only be attempted in dry weather. Rain will make the track inaccessible by 2WD vehicles and becomes very boggy for 4WD's.
To locate this campground, you need to follow the signposts to Christies Track, it's off Simmie Road located approx 6km's east of Echuca. Turn off at Bangerang Road, then turn left 1.1km onto Simmie Road (GPS -36.122495, 144.813597) and travel along to you get to the cattle grid, then turn right onto Boileau Tk for 0.4km and then turn left on Christies Tk for 1km until you reach the campsites.

We have stayed here previously and loved it. However when we checked the site it looks like people have been there for ages with cars and junk spread everywhere.
So we didn’t stay.

This is an excellent spot to get away from it all on the banks of the Murray. There are several areas where you can be by yourself with spectacular views of the Murray with house boats going by. Pays to be self contained. Definitely not recommended in wet weather.

Rating depends on what you are after. Mud week and extremely isolated. Closest neighbour 500m away. Right on the Murray. Beautiful spot and in non peak times you would enjoy splendid isolation( as we currently are).
