Miaree Pool is only a 20 minute drive away from Karratha in Western Australia, approximately 30 kilometres on the North West Coastal Highway. A lovely spot for swimming, Miaree Pool offers a picnic area, car parking and plenty of shady spots for relaxing on the river bank.

To get there, take the turn off located about 200 metres north of the Maitland River bridge. You will find the picturesque clear water pool just a few hundred metres east of the bridge.  

This is a great overnight rest area to relax at before you set off again.

Good site easy access from the highway on a good gravel road, not many level sites. Easy access to the pool and locals bring the family out to swim. Would stay here again if passing this way.

Moderate size 24 hour rest area for self-contained vehicles off the NW Coastal Highway adjacent to the Maitland River in Maitland, WA. Limited facilities. Moderate sized parking area (dirt/gravel) with no shade. Some grassy sites by river for 4WD vehicles. Facilities include drop toilets, bins and covered seating. Good Telstra reception but no Optus/TV. Suited only as an overnight stay. Close to Karratha for fuel and food.

this is a large site with limited shade. camping near the river is limited to 4wd because of the severe erosion of the tracks. this site is not reccommended in wet weather as it gets very boggy and the track in gets slippery. apart from that ot is a beautifull place to rest.
