Coonabarabran Golf Club

Free Camping - New South Wales

On the outskirts of Coonabarabran you will find us.  We are a ‘not for profit’ club here for our community. Here you will find a 9 hole, grass greens, with 18 tees; one of the hardest in the North West.

The Club has one of the best “19th Hole” views you can ask for; overlooking the 2nd hole. We are open all year round for golf and the club is Open 7 days a week. The Club has KENO, and Gaming on site, as well as snooker table and darts – free use. Come visit the Coona Golf Club

Finalist in 2018 NSW Country Club of the Year and one of the top 5 Country Clubs in NSW! As voted by Golf NSW.

The Coona Golf Club provides a FREE CAMPING ground at the back of its club. Visitors that use this area must be self-contained, as this is a primitive camping ground. The Club does have toilets available during business hours at the Club House. No camp fires allowed. There is a BBQ available in the Clubs grounds. Please feel free to come and have a chat to our friendly staff or play a round of golf whilst you make yourself at home. All we ask that you clean up when you leave, do not dump water/waste on ground and buy a beer from the Club.

Back again. So quiet here. Yes a bit of a slope but not impossible. Area will be slashed again over the next few days. Still a favourite overnighter for me.

Great place for a stopover, plenty of space for rigs of all sizes. Club staff and members are most welcoming, I enjoyed a game in the Saturday comp, a very challenging little course! Excellent dinner at the Chinese restaurant. Will definately stay here any time we're in the area.

Restaurant is closed on Mondays, but open for lunch and dinner 6 days per week.

How great to see this free camp open again. We love camping out the back and wandering into the club for a cool drink, a friendly chat to the locals and a great meal. Lucky at times to stay over on a Friday night for the meat raffles and the fun. The nearby shopping centre has all you need when travelling, supermarkets, chemists, butchers and many specialty shops. The club is a great free place to base yourself to see the nearby Warrumbungles and other attractions in the area. Quiet and safe location.

Good quiet place for an overnight stay and the Chinese restaurant food is amazingly good. Will return on our way back.
