Captain Cook Holiday Park

Caravan Park - Tasmania

Bruny Island is located off the south-eastern coast of Tasmania and is accessed by a vehicular ferry which departs from Kettering, a 40 minute drive south of Hobart.

Captain Cook Caravan Park in the heart of Adventure Bay, which is located on Southern Bruny Island, is the perfect location to base yourself whilst exploring the many attractions Bruny has to offer.

Our park is directly opposite the beach with its white sand and sky blue sea and it isn’t uncommon to see pods of dolphin and migrating whales in the Bay. The park itself is home to some local wildlife including our resident white wallabies and the bird life is abundant with people travelling from all over the world to see them.

The award winning Bruny Eco Boat cruise departure point is  an easy 1km walk from our park and a further 1/2 km will bring you to the start of South Bruny National Park with its scenic walking tracks.

The well-stocked Adventure Bay Store is a stone throw away as is the Bruny Bowls Club with their popular Friday night meals. In fact there are many culinary temptations on Bruny all within an easy drive from our park.

We offer a variety of accommodation choices and our aim is to ensure your stay with us is as enjoyable as possible whether you are a family camping or a couple enjoying a getaway in one of our beautiful villas.  They offer powered and unpowered camping, on-site vans, two bedroom cabins and one bedroom villas.

The park also has 2 communal BBQ areas, a large camp kitchen, coin operated laundry, filtered spring water, children’s play area and wood fires allowed on camp sites, subject to the normal fire restrictions. Pets are welcome subject to conditions.

If you are here to enjoy all the outdoor pursuits the Island has to offer or if you are content to sit back, relax and enjoy the moment, our park is the perfect location.

We've stayed here a couple of times. In this visit we have enjoyed a pleasant grassy site, with views across to the beach. Be prepared to pay for a warm shower, I suppose it's a way to get people to have sensible short showers. The newer cabins look nice.

Men’s amenities are in need of a refurbishment. Groundwork needed to better manage heavy rain as camp kitchen and entrance to men’s facilities inaccessible when wet. Upkeep of facilities appears to be neglected. However lower priced according to facilities
