Lake Liddell Recreation park is located just 15 minutes outside of the lovely community town, Muswellbrook.  This beautiful recreational area provides a place for friends and family to visit. it offers wonderful scenery and wild life.  Lake Liddell has an amazing range of birds and is the only inland breeding area for black swans. 

Camping at Lake Liddell is just $9 an adult per night, and $3 for children under the age of 15/ per night. Powered sites when available, are $25 per night for 2 people and the above charges for extra's, seniors concession available. The affordable camping fees make lake liddell a great location for a weekend away.

The park has a honestly systems and appreciates it if everyone places their $5 entry fee in the pole on the way into the park. If camping the $5 entry fee is not required. 

Early in the morning and late at night, the lake provides amazing sunsets and beautiful atmosphere they every deserves to enjoy. Lake liddell is also a great location for BBQ's and parties.

During 2013, the park has been taken over by new Managers, Ged and Julie Elphinstone, and since this time has under gone some amazing improvements.  The grounds are in better state and looking greener, rubbish has been controlled, but most off all, the 41 year old toilet block as been refurbished and is looking great, very modern.

Lake Liddell is an amazing location for all and the managers would love to see more people visiting the recreational park and for more people to see the wonderful place that this gorgeous lake as turned into to.

Please note: they have non-potable water that comes from the lake which the power station uses.  They also have rainwater tanks and they recommend boiling first.  It is recommended that you BYO drinking water.

We enjoyed our 2 day stay here & would stay here again. At $14 per night (unpowered seniors) it was good value. The area is huge with plenty of level sunny sites right on the lake edge. Shady trees provide shade if needed. There are also powered sites available. The amenities are very good. We were aware of the algae problem & knew the water was off limits. As it was cold this didnt bother us. FYI Coal trains are frequent (day & night approximately every 30 - 45 minutes). While they didnt bother us light sleepers might find this bothersome. The presence of algae that can cause meningitis means there is absolutely no water activities. If you like to fish or swim its not for you. In view of this it would be hot & unpleasant in the summer months.

Extremely disappointing - the lake is not useable due to some life threatening algea that can give you meningitis, and can cause death & absolutely no water activity is allowed. The grass is practically all burrs and bindi. We had a puppy & he couldn't be taken for a walk except on the dirt. Amenities were ok. We booked for a week but only stayed a couple of days - couldn't wait to leave.
