Camping area in the old railway yards at Monto run by the local business community. Situated on the Gladstone- Monto road right at the end of Newton St, the main shopping street in town. There is a dump point on site and water available. Area is for self contained vehicles only. Caretaker on site and a fee of $5 per vehicle per night is payable. 72 hour limit applies.

We have stayed here a couple of times, very handy to pick up some shopping, good for a night or two and only a 20min drive to the Cania Gorge.

Excellent large area with mostly level sites. Friendly camp host collects the very reasonable fee of $5. Dump Point, toilets and potable water available. Very close to Monto’s Main Street with plenty of shops, cafes and 2 hotels serving meals. Nice town...don’t miss searching for the recently completed murals in main street and on water tower. Recommended.

Nice spot to stay and very convenient to shops pub meals etc are all within easy walking distance.. There is a dump point on site. There are public toilets just outside the site and the information centre is at the entrance. Grounds are mostly flat.

A very pleasant overnight stop well organised by efficient camp hosts. Timber diving beds between generous sites puts order into the area. The towns people are very friendly and inviting. A short walk across the road to the shops and hotels is a real bonus. Public toilets, park with BBQ and VIC just outside the gate also.

Great position in town with very good cafe across from the entrance. Easy walk to shops and pubs, all usual services. Potable water and a dump point on the site with toilets just outside the entrance. No TV though, strange in a town of this size.

Small but very neat. They are looking for a Caretaker at the moment. 30th May 2019. Monto is a lovely little town with lots of shops, IGA, bakery and Cafes.

Sent the night here Thursday went to Grand Hotel across the road with 18 of our travellers, you won’t be disappointed with the food. We had happy hour with the caretakers and it was the largest group they have had for some time. Great shopping and coffees a must to stay and look at the art work.
