Chatsworth Park Rest Area

A noisy Stopover just north of Gympie. Relatively level overnight parking area for a limited number of units. The biggest Motorhome can be fitted in. Unfortunately several caravanners were ignoring the 20 hr limit and leaving their vans whilst off driving.

Needs policing. Full a few months ago when we tried. Space along the access road today with much much earlier arrival (lunchtime) but despite the supposed 20hr limit the good spots seem to be occupied by permanents. I have no problem with people unhitching and going for a drive during a 20hour stay but from what we saw some were working on their vehicles, others had given up and simply were not roadworthy. Shame, as it's a pretty spot by the dam, but noisy as right on the highway, & some dodgy types coming and going for the park. Six mile creek up the road has a lot more space and further from the noise.

Site is right beside main highway and can be noisy. The redevelopment meant loss of sites but what is there is quite good. Recommend getting in early as it is usually busy.Toilets are about 200m from main camping area.
