The very tourist savvy McKinlay Shire Council have turned this park into a destination in its own right. Sure it has all the expected things like grass or slab sites, and spot on management. And recently they have built a brand spanking new amenities building, even though the still used old ones are as good as most. But its the significant extras that provide the killer punch: free use of pushbikes; daily happy hour; Monday fireside camp dinners cooked by town Service clubs; and the very exclusive, free, and private Artesian Bore bath tubs. Throw in the welcome from the Julia Creek towns people who have gone out of their way to embrace RV travellers, and this is a park not to be missed.

We took advantage of the three night deal of $60 on power. We've heard about the popularity of the billy camp meals but sadly with the increasing temperatures we've decided not to stay longer. However we've loved our time here. The township is very friendly and we could easily stay here longer.

This is a lovely park with good facilities that are spotlessly. Lean. We were lucky to have a grass powered site which we really enjoyed. We took advantage of the artesian bath opportunity thought is no longer free - $25 for one hour soak. It was something different to do and enjoyable. You can use the local pool free and it is just across the road. Phil could not be more helpful and approachable and good for a chat. However the lady who handled our enquiry over the phone and was on reception when we booked in was quite abrupt and not welcoming and could do with an attitude adjustment. We did leave feeling rested and refreshed.
