Augathella on the Highway is a Service Centre for travellers, located directly on the main highway which skirts the outback Queensland town of Augathella.  Augathella on the Highway proudly brings together the Augathella Motel & Caravan Park and neighbouring BP Roadhouse.

The owners and staff love the lifestyle Outback Queensland has to offer and are well versed in everything from local history to road conditions and current events in the region. If you are planning a road trip or travelling for work or pleasure, Augathella on the Highway is ideally situated between major centres for a convenient rest stop or to overnight. We know that convenience, cleanliness, helpfulness, and above all a comfortable rest are important to travellers and at Augathella on the Highway, that is what we deliver.

Stays

The Augathella Caravan Park is set over 5 acres of motel grounds.  The site features spacious and clean amenities  in a central well-lit block which includes showers, toilets and laundry facilities. There is also a large covered seating area with a sink and electric BBQ.  A particular feature of the park is the large drive-through sites and wide roads which can easily accommodate the largest of recreational vehicles and buses. 

 The park does not automatically allow dogs in the caravan park but will consider well behaved pets with responsible owners on a case by case basis.

This park is the most disappointing park we have ever stayed in. You have to book in and pay at the road house before setting up in the park which is up the hill a couple of hundred meters away. Report on other data bases say in 2013 that some of the power points didnt work well they still dont work in 2016. Only a few sites at the front of the park have any grass and the rest is red dirt. At $30 a night we consider it is worth $10. There are coin operated washing machines and showers and toilets but quite basic. We only stayed here as all the freedom camps were wet from recent rains. The promised development in the description has not materalized and we would NOT stay here again.
