Juandah Historical Site

Private Campground - Queensland

Juandah Historical Site is a truly unique slice of history. This is the original site of the Juandah Head-Station, the heart of a settlement which later became known as Wandoan. At full running capacity, Juandah Station employed up to 80 stockmen to run up to 50,000 head of cattle.

Some of the original buildings from its time as a flourishing enterprise are still standing, including the old Juandah Store, built in the 1850s, which contains a room that later became the first school room for the area. Various rooms and remnants of the original homestead and other structures are carefully sign-posted at their original sites.

Donations are now requested to maintain the upkeep of this site by the Heritage Society.

Great site, only problem was that the weather caused an electrical blackout. The document supplied by the caretaker makes a special welcome to CMCA members.

This campsite is extremely good value for $15.00 per night with power and water inclusive. The amenities and the entire campsite grounds are clean and well maintained. The Juandah Historical site and all of it's memorabilia is well worth a look a lot of history here take a couple of hours and step back in time and appreciate how tough it must have been for these early day settlers. Highly Recommended. Big Rig Serenity.

An excellent camp spot in the grounds of the historical village on the outskirts of Wandowan. It is removed from the highway so is quiet at night. Caretaker on site.
