Wongi Waterholes - Wongi State Forest

Turn off Warrah Road at the GPS co-ordinates and follow the unsealed road to the campsites.

Wongi camping area has an open site for bush camping to suit families, goups, caravans, tents and motor homes. Picnic tables, toilets, and cold showers are provided. Dogs are allowed on leashes.

Camping permits are required and fees apply. A tag with your booking number must be displayed at your camp site.

Camp amongst the eucalypt forest near the edges of the Wongi waterholes. Simply relax by the waterholes observing the abundant wildlife. Enjoy an easy walk on the trail along the waters edge, or go canoeing on the tranquil waters.

Location: turn off Warrah Road onto Access Road and follow directional signage to the camping or day-use area.

Access: the camping area can be reached by conventional vehicle in dry weather conditions. It is accessible for trailers; caravans; buses; motor homes. Caution recommended if not a high clearance—pending on road conditions. Parking is available next to your camp site or at the day-use area.

Number of sites: open area without seperately defined sites. Maximum of 100 people at the site.

Camp sites are suitable for: tent camping beside your car, walk-in camping; caravans; camper trailers; (small) motor homes; large groups.

Camp site surface: grass.

Facilities: flushing toilets, cold showers and picnic tables provided.

Open fires: prohibited. Fuel or gas stoves are recommended.

Generator use: allowed. Only generators that operate at or below 65dB(A) are allowed. Generators may be operated between 9am and 8pm only and owner must be present at the site when generator is in use.

Essentials to bring: drinking water, rubbish bags, insect repellent.

Nice bush camp bird life The waterhole is nice fairly quiet road in is unsealed but in good condition there was some logging truck activity on the road whilst we were here but didn’t detract us from the wildlife of the area
