Bowen Big Mango Information Centre & Rest Area (Day Rest Only, no overnight stays).  The information centre which is directly across the road from the rest area is a wealth of information of Bowen and surrounding areas.  The volunteers here are very friendly and are passionate about their beautiful city of Bowen.  Enjoy a yummy Mango Sorbet or ice-cream while you're here.  It is also the site of the Big Bowen Mango which is a great photo opportunity.

The rest area has easy access for large caravans.  They have toilets & covered picnic tables here at the rest area.

Drive past Bowen. It’s an overpriced HOLE.

The rest area which is strictly day use only offers an ideal place to stop when travelling the highway past Bowen. Picnic facilities, grassy area well paved driveway. All sized rigs would access the site. Across the road is the Big Mango with tourists taking selfies and the visitor info centre. The fruit shop was closed when we called. 3 stars
