This is a small, but very beautiful campsite located at Lilydale, some 25 kilometres from Launceston, on the B81 Highway. The Lilydale Falls are located just a short walk from the campground. Please note there is a maximum 2 night stay at the Lilydale Falls Reserve Campground. This campground is suitable for campervans, caravans and motorhomes as well as tent based camping. Signposted access app. 2.5 kilometres north of Lilydale on the B1 highway. In 1923 the Lilydale Council was granted a 99 year lease over some 40 acres of land that includes the Lilydale Falls Reserve. This reserve is popular picnic area. A short easy walk will take you to two sets of falls, one above the other which, although small, are quite picturesque. On the reserve are two oak trees that were grown from acorns from the Great Park at Windsor, being planted on Coronation Day May 12, 1937. The reserve has amenities, fireplaces, toilets, water and camping facilities. Camping is free, there is a charge for showers.
This campground is managed by the Launceston City Council, all camping is on a first come, first served basis. The Lilydale Falls campground has a playground, picnic shelter and free firewood making it an attractive free campsite. There is a grassed area beyond some bollards that is suitable for tent camping only meaning you have to carry your own equipment. Sites for campervans, caravans and motorhomes are located in the adjoining gravel carpark.
