Sharon Gorge Nature Park Rest Area

Rest Area Overnight - Queensland

Turn off Gin Gin Road and follow the service road for approx 300 metres to reach the rest area.  Sharon Gorge Nature Park is around 20 minutes from Bundaberg, with access available from the Bundaberg-Gin Gin Road. Sharon Gorge is a peaceful area with rainforest, ferns, palms and orchids.

The park has a shady picnic area surrounded by Bunya & Kauri Pines. There are regularly maintained toilets, barbeques and sheltered picnic tables as well as free camping (overnight only).  Please note: Dogs on a leash in picnic grounds only.  Strictly for self-contained vehicles only.

Stayed here Wednesday night. Only one here. Lovely clean toilets, well lit. Clean bbq. 1km bush walk down gorge

This is a popular overnight spot and is the closest legal overnight area. It is close to the road and can be a bit noisy during peak morning and afternoon times as it is one the main road to Gin Gin. Area is not large and can become crowded at times. Nice walks in nature park adjoining.

When I was there there was no toilet paper and toilets were filthy, the bins were overflowing, and it was very crowded
