This free overnight rest area is next to the highway, however, you do have some shady trees that act as a noise barrier. It is level and near the Wonondi Rivulet. 

There is enough room for you to turn your rig around here. It has a large bitumen area which leads onto a nice sandy/dirt area along the rivulet. 

Here you will find toilets, picnic tables and dogs are permitted.

Nice area just short of the RVFT of Merriwa. It is worth a visit due to the unique rock formations. We have stayed here with up to six Motorhomes a great place for happy hour.

Battery Rock Rest Area has had a makeover since these photos were taken. The gravel loop road is now bitumen and the picnic tables and toilet block have been replaced. Great place to spend a night and the rocks and surrounds are a very pleasant feature. There is a little road noise.
