Bunbury City Council has opened the door to recreational vehicle (RV) travellers after giving the tick of approval to a two-year trial of overnight rest areas.

The trial will begin in November 2018  at the Ocean Drive car park near Scott Street.  Overnight rest areas will be available only to fully self-contained RVs with a maximum 48-hour stay. Permits can be collected from the Bunbury Visitor Centre from Thursday 1 November 2018 with signage at each rest area to be installed over the coming days.

Travellers will need to call into the Bunbury Visitor Centre to pick up a permit where they will also be handed a welcome pack including information about Bunbury such as maps and tourist guides.

City officers will patrol the sites to ensure the areas are only attended by fully self-contained vehicles – camping in tents, or sleeping in cars will not be permitted.
