Lake Benanee is a large freshwater lake 13 kilometres east of Euston on the road to Balranald. It covers, when full, an area of around 750 hectares.Lake Benanee has a beach area and public toilets and is easily seen and accessed from the Sturt Highway.

Lake Benanee Rest Area provides a large gravel parking area with a couple of shelters, toilets and bins.  A cold water-outdoor shower is also provided. A very pleasant spot beside the lake featuring a range of wildlife.

A nice overnighter, but don't forget that there is a donation box on the toilet wall.

Well loved site and on a windy day could get dusty as camping us on dirt and access road in is also dirt so entering or leaving vehicles can kick up a dust cloud. It is overlooking the lake so vista is pleasant.

Lovely spot. Mostly level. Close to highway but noise not too bad. Please remember your donation and be considerate when selecting your parking spot

Lovely little spot overlooking the lake. Mostly level, bit dusty. Quite popular. Don’t forget the donation box. Be considerate of others when parking. Will stay again.

This is a popular rest area with a hard gravel surface well off the road. Have stayed here a couple of times and the nights are generally peaceful but there can be road noise from trucks. The shelter shed has seen better days but there is a beach area on the lake below the camping area. Sunrises and sunsets at the site can be spectacular.
