Branxton Oval RV Area - NSW RVFT

Free Camping - New South Wales

Located within walking distance to town the Branxton Oval RV Area offers camping around the playing fields.

It is a spacious area and the sites are mostly flat and level, however, some have a slight slope. There are plenty of trees available if you want shade. The area is suitable only for fully self-contained vehicles and the grounds are subjected to flash flooding during heavy rains, so there are plenty of warning signs and best to check the weather first and check if heavy rain is imminent.

Branxton lies on Maitland Street which is the old New England Highway. Easiest access is via the exits from the Hunter Expressway. Once on the main street through town turn into John Rose Ave, look for the old Victoria House two-story building as a landmark. Drive down John Rose Ave until you see the Rotunda at the end. This is the entrance to the oval. When you get to the rotunda, veer to the left and head towards the toilet blocks. Drive around them and to the right where you will see a gateway that leads to the camping areas.

What an awesome spot, thank you Branxton. Great to do the wineries from here and lovely meals at the hotel.

Beautiful spot lots of flat areas and space. Walking distance to shops and pubs. Great TV reception.

Congratulations Branxton. This would have to be the best free campsite we have stayed at, this small community is to be congratulated in providing this facility for us travelling grey nomads. Level site's. Quite a number of tree's. Well maintained and spacious. Dump Point at the entrance. Suitable for big rigs. Shop locally to support this community. Big Rig Serenity.

This campsite is the starting point for those wanting to visit the Hunter Wine Region and have travelled down the New England or Golden Highways. Plenty of room for big rigs and there is a choice between full sun and shaded areas. A two minute walk to the Pub which has excellent meals as well as a Coffee shop and opp shops.

Good stop over. Plenty of space and no trouble to find a level grassy site.

Great free camp, thank you Branxton. 2 minutes walk to town. Great meals at the pub and an IGA. Highly recommend.

Very good spot. Plenty of room. 3 minutes walk to township. Coffee shops, bakery, 2 hotels etc.

Whether you have just had enough of driving or making this oval a destination, it is a perfect place to stopover. It has everything you may need, and level sites. Thank you to the community. Second time for us as last year the winds were so strong and we needed to get away from the highway.

A nice quiet area with a Dump Point and toilets.
