Myall Creek Rest Area

Rest Area Overnight - New South Wales

This free overnight rest area has a turning area at the end.  If you're a big rig, I suggest, you make sure that you are turned around for an easy exit in the morning.  You will find picnic tables and wood BBQ's here.

It is also an historical site.  There is a memorial site 500 metres up the memorial track.  It memorialises a massacre of approximately 30 aborigines that were murdered by Europeans in 1838.  It proved to be a pivotal moment in the development of the relationship between Aboriginal people and the settlers.  Seven settlers were hanged for their role in the massacre.
This is a basic Rest Area on the banks of Myall Creek. Parking surface is mostly gravel and it could accommodate most sized rigs. There is some shade with large gum trees.

This is a basic Rest Area, some grass and some gravel areas beside the creek. Please note there are some large gum trees on site so please look up when parking up.
