Nestled in the north-eastern corner of Baw Baw National Park, camp at Aberfeldy River Camping Area and make the most of the tranquil riverside location. Set on the Aberfeldy River this is a great spot for fishing and swimming or as a base to explore Baw Baw National Park. Visitor facilities include; pitfall toilet, car parking, fire pits, picnic tables and chairs.

Dispersed bush camping is permitted on the Baw Baw Plateau. The Plateau is a fuel stove only area – no solid fuel fires are permitted and collecting firewood prohibited in the Park. The area falls within domestic water supply catchments, so care must be taken with the disposal of human waste.

Campers should be aware that the weather can deteriorate suddenly and without warning. Don't hesitate to turn back if the trip becomes too difficult or the weather deteriorates.

Be sure to check the advice on safety and regulations before camping in the park.

The campground is accessed from the historic township of Walhalla along the unsealed Walhalla Road or across the dam wall of the Thomson Reservoir. Access from Beardmores to Binns Road is a four-wheel drive only road.

Bookings:  No bookings, no fees. Camping is on a first in, first-served basis.

Facilities:  Non-flush toilets, parking, picnic table and a fireplace are available. All campsites are unpowered.

Campfire:  Fuel stoves are preferred for cooking. Collecting firewood is prohibited in the Park.

Water:  No drinking water is available – supply your own.

Rubbish:  There is no rubbish collection at this campground. Please take all rubbish with you.
