Eldorado is a beautiful little township on the banks of Reedy Creek located 20 km east of Wangaratta in north-eastern Victoria. It sits in a basin surrounded by hills and Aussie bush which contributes to the tranquility of the area. Eldorado boasts a history of thousands of miners and a highly successful mining industry. The discovery of gold at Eldorado brought prospectors but the depth of the seams necessitated syndicates and companies being formed. Tin and gold was mined through till 1954.
