This free overnight rest area is a large bitumen drive through rest area. It does have grassy areas with plenty of trees to provide shade. It has toilets with disabled access, water, picnic tables and dogs are allowed here. It is located between the highway and train tracks so you will get a bit of noise. Located directly opposite the rest area is the Illabo Hotel where you enjoy a hot meal and a cold beverage as well as the post office.

Pleasant Rest Area, with grass, flat hard tarmac, garbage bins and amenities, but it is between the road and the train line. It is opposite the hotel so a quick stroll across the road for a feed and a drink. Several water taps scattered around as well and some picnic tables.
