Longreach Apex Riverside Park Camping - QLD RVFT

Private Campground - Queensland

Location - Thomson River approximately 5 kilometres west of Longreach.

This park offers accommodation at $5.00/night up to 4 nights to travellers, which is payable at the Visitor Information Centre.

It has a covered BBQ area and male/female toilets. Apex Riverside Park is the site of the Annual Longreach Yellowbelly Classic Fishing Competition.

We have stayed here for 2 nights mid December And no problem, only us and a caravan, plenty of room, close to town, no water though but River is close if you fancy a swim, highly recommend the stockman's hall of fame and the Qantas founders museum but allow plenty of time, 2 days min.

Stopped for a night earlier in the month, friendly welcoming party of roosters, just us and a van, plenty of room nice and quiet all for $5 a night.

No shade here and it is just dirt. No wonder caravaners want to get out when it rains as if they got a big down pour, the Thompson River which is close by would flood the area. Be nicer and safer if there was some of a base to it.

Fees have gone up to $5 a night as of 13/07/20

Very busy park .... stayed just after the rain very green couldn't get within cooie of the facilities my guess get there early or stay for a couple days to move around

This site is dirt but for $3 per night it is OK. Does get crowded during winter and could do with a dump point.
Unpowered Site $5.00
