Fort O'Hare Campground

Free Camping - Victoria

This free camping area is located on the banks of the Glenelg River. It's here that a 4 day canoe safari starts that goes all the way to Nelson river mouth.

It is open, grassy and has plenty of shade. It is also a nice place to go fishing. There are some nice walking tracks here as well.

Here you will find toilets, water and dogs are permitted.

what a truly amazing spot this is. very large area for all size rigs. a fantastic waterhole to help on those hot days. great craft shop and an op shop as well. be brilliant if people kept their dogs on a leash, including the locals. all in all, a great place to stay.

We spent two days here alone, no one else to spoil the tranquility. A fire pit right beside us, baked potatoes and grilled lamb. what more could you need. Beautiful and green, cool nights and lovely days. feeling blessed. Thank you to the community

A fabulous camping area in all weather. Lovely and grassy and well maintained by the community. A recent addition of a cabana has been added to the facilities. Fire pits and their surrounds are the most practical we have seen in our travels. Even when other South East sites are boggy, this one is firm enough for motorhomes. There is fresh spring water able to be collected from the rest area on the main highway. Koalas have been spotted in the trees around the campground. Add this one to your favourites list and donate to support the community - pole in main street by public hall for donations.
Nice place to stay for a few days

Great little free camp. Large area will fit any size rig. Toilet, but no water, bins or dump point. Great walk along the river. Would definitely recommend this camp site.
